Art/Tech Hack Nights is a public learning lab for the technologies behind contemporary art—from video and projection to networks, creative code, and community-run infrastructure.
The cycle
Each part feeds the next. Useful knowledge becomes events; events produce contributors and documentation; that memory makes the next experiment easier.

A first module for anyone who needs an image or video to move reliably from a file or camera to a screen, stream, or projection system.
Learning module
Build a practical mental model of digital video, signal paths, playback, capture, network media, and projection.

The first library is intentionally small. These topic families establish where future modules and community knowledge will live.

Events
The archive begins with three verified 2026 sessions. New dates will appear only after they are confirmed.
We’re planning the next round of Art/Tech activity.
Beyond the Platforms
Explore tools, protocols, and governance questions for cultural infrastructure that communities can understand, operate, shape, and leave.

Professional credentials are not the price of entry. Bring a workflow, a question, a project, a pair of hands, or an interest in learning.
Project context
Art/Tech Hack Nights grew from an Urbana Arts Grant-supported workshop series. This website is continuing documentation and public infrastructure developed after the grant period.
